How We Evaluate Email Sequence Tools
What our prices and screenshots are based on, and what we leave out.
Where prices come from
Every price on a page is read from the vendor's own public pricing page, or from a calculator or slider on that page, on the date the page states. When a vendor shows a different number at different list sizes, we write down the size next to the number. When a vendor publishes no price, the page says it is quote-based and links to the vendor instead of estimating one. We do not use review sites or memory as a source for a price. Plans change often, so treat any figure as correct for its date and check the linked page before you buy.
Where screenshots come from
A screenshot of a pricing page is a capture of the live public page on the date in its caption. We do not edit, crop out or combine them. A capture can be affected by where it was taken: a few vendors, HubSpot among them, show prices in euros to a visitor in Europe, and we say so in the caption when that happens.
What we do not claim
We do not publish ratings, star scores, review counts, customer quotes, open or delivery rates, or statistics that we cannot link to a source. We do not say that we ran a tool through a test unless the page describes what was done. Where the comparison depends on how a product behaves in practice rather than on a published fact, the page says that it is a judgement and explains the reasoning.
Costs are computed, and we show the arithmetic
Where a price depends on list size or sending volume, we compute the monthly cost at three sizes and show the working: the vendor's tier for that size, and any assumption we made, such as the number of emails per subscriber. Change the assumption and the answer changes, which is why it is written next to the table.
Corrections
If a price, limit or feature on a page is out of date or wrong, tell us through the contact page and name the page. We correct it and update the date.
The name on an article's byline is a pen name for the site's editorial team, and the about page says what that editor does and does not do. See also About this site and the comparison index.
